POST OF ACCREDITATION MANAGER

The Institution of Engineers, Si Lanka (IESL) is currently a provisional member of the Washington Accord and is planning to seek the full membership of the Accord next year. The IESL accredits four year engineering degree programmes conducted by local Universities.

In this regard, the IESL wishes to engage the services of an academic in the field of science or engineering to function as its Accreditation Manager. The duties and responsibilities of the Accreditation Manager would be as follows:

• • Assisting the Universities in preparing their documentation to be submitted to the IESL when they seek accreditation of the four year engineering degree programmes offered by them
• Taking part in accreditation visits, guiding the members of the Evaluation Panels taking part in such visits and preparing the report of the Evaluation Panel
• Assisting the Universities in developing the curricular of their engineering degree programmes to meet the standards stipulated in the IESL Accreditation manual
• Assisting the Universities to implement the recommendations made by the Evaluation Panels after their accreditation visits and monitoring the progress of such implementation
• Organizing training programmes to University Academics and Evaluation Panel Members so that they are up to date on the requirements set out in the IESL Accreditation Manual
• Attending the meetings of the Accreditation Board and the University Liaison Committee and submitting relevant reports regularly

The appointment will be on contract basis initially for one year and the salary will be negotiable.
