Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, recently recognized as the Best Five Star City Hotel at the Sri Lanka Tourism Awards, belongs to the Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts chain of the John KeeIls Hotels Group. We are seeking an exceptional individual for the position below and invite applications from suitably qualified individuals.

Chief steward

As the Chief Steward, you are responsible for the overall coordination and operation of the Stewarding Department. And also should be conversant in all aspects of Kitchen Stewarding including the latest technology & HACCP requirements.

The candidate would be responsible for

·         Ensuring that established policies and procedures are adhered to and that minimum levels of hygiene standards are constantly maintained.

·         Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene levels of all food and beverage areas including kitchens, outlets, storage areas and any other equipment and areas that come into contact during the preparation, storage or service of food and beverage items.

·         Facilitation of the kitchen and food and beverage departments operation by ensuring that an adequate supply of operating equipment is available for preparation and service of food items.

·         Conducting regular operating equipment inventories and produces reports with recommendations.

·         Training all team members in stewarding department to ensure a high-level of consistent service is maintained.

·         Monitoring & improving performances of stewarding members to ensure the smooth operation of the department & the hotel.

The ideal candidate should possess:

·         Minimum 5 years experience in a similar capacity preferably in a star class hotel.

·         Computer literacy (Ms Office packages) with excellent communication skills.

·         Good written and oral proficiency in English and Sinhala.

Preference will be given to candidates with five star hotel experiences.
